Ingrid Laubrock is widely regarded as one of the UK’s finest female saxophonists in the country, yet you might not of heard of her and her jazz Quintet but they kicks off the fifth F-IRE Festival this week.

The collective started over 15 years ago and is made up of an assortment of talented jazz performers who came together to showcase there soloists, bands and further there musical experience. The collective then went on to organizing work shops for other young musicians interested in learning more about jazz.

But it was in 2004 the collective went on to gain mass attention by winning a BBC British jazz award.
F-IRE Festival now in its fifth year is gaining in prominance and the programme reflects this with key members of the Collective as well as musicians from other labels making there appearances.
Robert Mitchell, Mark Donlon Tom Arthur polar bear and drummer Seb Rochford will all be playing at that festival this week.

The festival which starts on the 8th and runs until the 12th at the pizza Express jazz club10 Dean Street, London, W1V 5RL

We will be bringing you video clips and interviews from the performers at the festival the organizers have been very cooperative and supportive. Kicking off with Ingrid and her Ingrid Laubrock Quintet. featuring
drummer Tom Rainey and Liam Noble on piano.
